The Thetford Town Council Regalia

Consists of:
The Sword of State inscribed with the date1678 (with original leather case)
The Great Mace inscribed with the date 1678 (with original leather case)
Pair of Sergeant-at-Arms Maces which are dated early 17th century
The Staff of Office which is engraved with the date 25th December 1800
The Mayor's Badge and Chain which is engraved with the date 1902
The Mayoress' Badge and Chain which is engraved with the date 1930
The Plate:
The Loving Cup and Stand which is engraved with the date 1697 (with original leather cases for each)
A Plain oblong inkstand which is engraved with the dates 1962-63
An American plate circular dish which is engraved with the date August 6, 1952.
The Town Regalia is on view to the Public four times a year. At The Mayor-Making Ceremony and also at the three other
Ceremonial Meetings of the Council.
